 Welcome to "Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering" course. My hope is that by the end of this course you have a new appreciation for the subject matter and will continue your education in the subject.

The objective of this course is to familiarize students to geotechnical aspect of the
earthquake engineering. Lectures will focus on describing methods developed for important
geotechnical problems subject to dynamic loading.

My name is Siavash Zamiran and I will be your instructor for the next weeks in this online course. I am a geotechnical and geomechanics engineer with over than fifteen years of industry and academic experience in different geotechnical and petroleum engineering disciplines. I am a member of ASCE Geo-Institute Computational Geotechnics Committee. I was the winner of national ASCE Edmund Friedman Award in 2019 and ASCE St. Louis Young Engineer Award in 2018.
